Dear Members and Subscribers,

THE REVIVAL OF THAI TEXTILE PRINTING

Seksalis Mangmeesup

Saturday, 4 November 2017

L-Textile designed to honor H.M. King Bhumibol R-The artist Khun Seksalis

Printing on textiles is an art that requires great skill, time and patience. Seksalis Mangmeesup is such an artist who is passionate about his work.  Trained as textile designer at Thammasat University, Faculty of Science and Applied Arts, Khun Seksalis broke through the traditional boundaries of color and design, adding his personal touch to all the textiles that he designs by hand. These fabulous pieces are both in silk and fine cotton, displaying motifs and patterns borrowed from the traditional arts of mother-of-pearl, lacquer-ware and porcelain. A self-starter, he now runs his own small business, designing and creating pieces for both the Thai and foreign market.

Khun Seksalis will bring many examples of his work for us to see, an opportunity not to be missed.
